Fuel line setup on a 1970 R/T 383/440
« on: January 28, 2009 - 12:34:07 PM »

Hi all, I was wondering if someone can tell me how the fuel lines are supposed to run on my R/T 383. There seems to be several lines or breathers that congregate in the trunk near the fuel filler and I have two lines than run up the chassis rail to the engine bay.
So I am wondering what the second line into the engine bay would have been used for? And is it safe/o.k to plug this second line as I don’t intend to use it?
Keep in mind I am now running a warmed over 440 with a new Holley 750 4 barrel with no pollution/smog gear on the carb.
Thanks

the small line from the tank was to return fuel from the vapor seperator above the fuel pump , it can be left off or blocked if you do not have the seperator in place

Thanks for your reply C/P, I think the two lines in question are the same size?.
I’ll do another check measure and then block one of them off.
Thanks again..

if you have 2 usually one is 3/8" the other is 1/4
