Friend in ICU tonight
« on: January 29, 2009 - 11:41:38 PM »
I just got a call from one of my buddies that one of friends from the old gang of ours back in the days was hit by a car at 6:30pm not paying attention. He was then thrown off the motorcycle and was ran over. He's in ICU in San Jose. Many broken bones I'm hearing about. I'm in shock right now as I write this. God I hope he makes it.  :crying:
Please give a prayer for Brett.
Mike, Fremont, CA.

Update with some better news on his condition.

I just spoke to him on the phone. He was driving his motorcycle at a safe speed on a one way street in downtown San Jose. A car had jumped across right in front of him. He basically had no reaction time whatsoever to hit the brakes. Condition is: right wrist is completely shattered and pinned back together. Left wrist is broken. I told him to call the injury Lawyer hotline. Brett told me he will be released today. Thank God it isn't as bad as what I was first given info on.

The last time I ever road a street bike was 1998 and a truck turned in front of me. I still have back problems because of it. I am glad you got a good report on your friend. Truth turned out to be much better than perception   :2thumbs:

I can't believe how people can twist information so much what you finally get. Then find out later it was completely the opposite.

Brett may not ever re-gain full use of his wrist flexing motion again though. 5-6 months physical therapy for sure. Brett said to me he's never riding again on a cycle. I know and have met so many people hurt from riding them.
