Well, I've Made It to Holland
« on: January 30, 2009 - 01:05:59 AM »
Yes, it's true.  I'm finally up after a long, much needed sleep.  I stayed up for both flights and the majority of my train ride (~20 minute snooze).  It's really an interesting country, but also very fast-paced compared to what I'm used to in northern & southern (at school) Wisconsin.  Just figured those who knew I was coming over would like an update.  I'll be staying in Zwolle as an International exchange student at Windesheim University.  I still need to purchase a bike as it's something like 3-4 km between my soon-to-be apartment/dorm and the university (~30 minute walk otherwise).  It should be a good time, though. :2thumbs:

Great news Mark!  I am very excited for you.  I hope to make it there someday, as that is where my Mother's side of the family is from.  Stay safe over there and enjoy your stay!

That's awesome. Glad you made it safe. Sounds like it will be an amazing experience. I've been over to Italy, England/Scotland, but never to Holland. Enjoy your stay and see/do all that you can!! :woo:

Thanks all.  Neil, I'm going to be here for five months studying business and economics here in Zwolle (finally can pronounce it correctly, lol).  Last night I hung out with my mentor and a bunch of Spaniards...It was a really fun time.  Tonight I get to hang out with some people I met from my college in WI, provided I can find where she lives. :lol2:
