Auto Transporting.... any tips or good companies guys?

Im trying to get some info on a good company and would like any help I can get.

from where to where? Horseless Carriage is good,Exotic Transport too,whatever you do ,don't use DAS, though I have used them and everything was OK, I've heard horror stories from abusing and doing burn-outs to damage,don't forget to documnet the mileage before and after transport

  I wouldn't use DAS either. I sold a truck to a guy and it took them 2months to deliver it. It sat in South Tucson at their pick-up sight for over a month. If you can, go with someone who is an owner/operator. Sometimes they are more expensive, but they generally take better care of their cargo.

Do you guys have car transportation via the railway system ?  Maybe another option seeing as how the truck drives ?  would be easy to load and unload at a train station depot.

Currently using DAS, car should be here any day now , I'll let you know how it went! Don't like hearing the comments ( above )about DAS . Should I be worried?

For all those looking to move a car from point A to point B, I must recommend Shawn Field of Field Transporters. Although I found him through a broker, the broker was nice, but he only booked the job and added onto the bill. Shawn was the one that actually handled the car. He has a fully enclosed 2 car trailer. He is now starting to do cross country. He originally only handled the East Coast. I would recommend greatly. Good luck to those of you moving a car cross country. Its a stressful time and having someone like Shawn handling the task was very comforting. I promised him I would spread his name around so please mention the white cuda from NY to NC if you decide to use this reference. Not getting a kick back. just want him to know that i kept my word. The Clown just had that IROC Daytona transported from KY to MA and said he had a good experience with whoever handled his car.  He never did say who the outfit was.

Lots of good info here. I will be looking into this over the weekend and I'll check with Grancoupes guy. I also PMd Doug, but remember Mrs.Clown isnt doing so well so I understand if he cant get back here for a while.

  The BIG difference in price will be open vs. enclosed trailer. I can tell you now, the cost of shipping will be more than you are paying for the vehicle.
