I need a little advice here, Ladies and Gentlemen.
The old carpet of the challenger is in the trash, and the seats are out. I have mat to install, and I have gone over all of the surfaces with acetone. The directions for the mat say to elminate all air bubbles and be sure that the mat sticks everywhere on the floor pans. The issue is with the floor pans. They have these grooves in them put in by the manufacturer that add to stability of the sheet metal. I think they are called beads.
Anyway, if I lay the mat down and go over it with the roller, it isn't going to go down all the way in the beads and the air pockets are there. So, my question is, is it worth it to take the time and cut the mat into exact pieces, or is it enough just to lay it over the floor board and press it down? I am thinking a 3 hour job vs a 10 hour job?
I am not looking for a whisper quiet cabin, I want to hear the 340 6 pak and the flowmasters.
What say you?
