Reset knobs on rallye dash

Hello,
I'm trying to removed the wood grain cover from my Rallye dash and can't get it off because of the reset knobs.
Can somebody please advise what the secret is to remove the reset knobs. I've tried pulling and unscrewing without success.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle. FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Thanks everybody. Got them out and immediately screwed them back into the dash cluster after I took the cover off.
