It's got chunks of metal in it. Very gritty. Like sandpaper itself.

Much easier just to dab some paint remover on like I did. It took less than an hour to completely strip the grille down to bare metal without damaging the anodised finish.

as I said I do not want to sand it , it will sctratch the exposed anodiszed aluminum

try lacquer thinner, spray it with cheap spray bottle and cover with plastic bag,let it sit for 15-20 minutes, wipe off

you can soak a rag,spray some on the paint,throw the rag over and cover  with trash bag

ok so what is the verdict here , I got the paint off ok using paint stripper
is the paint full flat black or semi gloss oganisol color ?
