Universal Joint Quality
« on: February 04, 2009 - 09:43:53 AM »
I have noticed that universal joints are still available at my local parts house (Autozone) for pretty cheap ($15).  Does anyone have any comment on whether these are quality parts?  I don't want to have to worry about throwing a drive shaft and tearing up the underside when I get on it.

The strongest U joints have the grease fitting (if they have one at all) in the cap. The ones with the fitting in the cross have a weak spot where the hole is drilled and tapped for the grease fitting.  :2thumbs:
