another 90* (340 Oil filter Adapter) question

I think 416 was telling me that he found the gasket(s) in with one of his engine kits, in my other post from a while back there is also a link to Mancini..


my question is, where do the gasket(s) go? Is there only one gasket that goes from the block to the face of the adapter? or are there more. Im gonna put one on but I want to make sure what the deal is first....

There are 3 gaskets. The big one between the housing/block, a thick small one (maybe cork) that goes on the retaining bolt between the block/adapter and a thin metal core one that goes between the bolt and the outside of the adapter.

Sorry bro, that's the only Pic that Mancini had.  You'll know which ones they are because the ID fits on the bolt.

Some kits have both of the inner gaskets as one piece with three "spokes" connecting the inner & outer circles.

Exhaust 

A lot of the header designs use the space around and to the outboard of the oil filter.  You'd play heck to get the filter on/off without the adapter.

Yeah, I got a stubby filter on right now. Theres nothing like unthreading it and oil dumping down into the tube junction..
