I posted in the Ebay section already but I fear it doesn't get enough hits to be seen very well. There is a 73 challenger for sale and the guy is talking about parting it out or just sending it to the scrap metal place. I think he's crazy but I don't have the money to buy it. Here's the email he sent back to me after I told him to be patient.

"Thanks for the encouragement but I have no place to keep it and if it does not sell whole I will have to tear it apart and take the rest to the crusher. I have had it on craigs list since last august and before. also had it on mopar web site and others but everyone wants it for nothing and I would rather crush it than give it away."

Guys, I don't want to see this car scrapped. Its a good looking car, and complete.

He would crush it before selling it for less???

Tell 'im he's an idiot.  I don't have 10K (and if I did, sorry to admit I wouldn't spend it on a Challenger...)  but still - take a lower price and save a classic car.

Hmmm.  If "everyone wants it for nothing", then maybe his price is too high for this economy.  Looks like he could be out of it for $5-6k, but it sounds like reality doesn't play for him.

Oh well, maybe he'll feel so burnt on this car that he'll swear off Mopar forever.

I don't have $10k, but if it's in as good a shape as it looks, I'd pay that in a heartbeat.

B.S. - he's either an idiot or a liar.  First of all, I have not seen it on Craigslist since August.  Second, does he realize how stupid that sounds.  Are we to believe he'd rather crush a car and get $40 a ton for it or sell it outright for 5-7 grand?  He's just holding out for all the money and belly aching because market forces say the car is worth less than he thinks it is.   I'd like to call his bluff and wave some money in front of his face when the wrecker ready to take it to the bone yard.

All that being said, I'd love to take a look at it but I don't have the cash.  Maybe I will see what parts he's ready to sell   :poopoke:

I'm sure he'd take less if cash was waved in his face. I hear that "I'll crush it" stuff all the time (wonder why???)  :grinyes:  But transport costs would kill it for me................

I'm going to wave the BS flag on this one... you just bought off on a selling line... "Hurry up and find me someone with $9K or I'm gonna crush it" ...yea right...

I say let the jackass crush it. It's not even a running/driving car, just another project.

$10K in this market.......NOT.   :poopoke:

Looks like a decent car but not worth 10k without a running engine. Looks like either the rear springs are toast or he cinched it down with a chain hoist lol.

You know, I must be naive. I never even though about like ya'll said. In fact, I watch Craigs list all the time, that's how I found that one and I haven't seen it yet. Guess I should be more analytical next time. Sorry yall.
