Newb in Jax, FL 1971 Challenger
« on: February 12, 2009 - 12:57:50 AM »
Hello everyone,
Great website. I purchased a 71 Challenger a couple of months ago. Havent done alot of work because I am currently underway in the Navy but returning soon to start working on my favorite car. It is all original but does need some floor work so that is my next project. I will be asking for advice to make this a possible daily driver that I can drive anywhere. Thanks  Sam

Thank you for the warm welcome. I will definitely look you up FY1 when I get back into port. My objective is start going to the local shows and meeting new people in the car scene. Alittle more about the Challenger. The original color to the car is F3 so it has been repainted but the paint job is decent. I think that is the only thing that the previous owner changed. I was going to use some polish or compound to bring the green back a little more. Still debating to keep the dark green or to paint it it's original color. It has a 318 2bbl with no modifications, AC car. The interior is a deluxe style interior with white and green cotton seat and outside portion of the seat is a olive green. It has a steering column shifter. Original 14in rallys. That is what I remember from the Challenger. I was going to ask the forum if I should modify or leave it all original I get mixed opinions from friends. I will be asking the question as another topic. I lookf forward to learning and participating.   Sam

Thank you for the warm welcome. I have planned on driving through Florida some day this summer having a mini vanishing point drive seeing different car shows and meeting people. I know there is are many CC's in Florida.
Hello Puerto Rico, love San Juan been there a couple of years ago for some time at Rosie Roads when it was still open.
