Wow, it’s actually starting to look somewhat like a finished car now!  Cleaned and painted the back seat inside quarter panel covers; glued the insulation to the package tray and rear seat divider board; installed all and then installed the rear seat back rest.  Also, painted the rear view mirror mount, the mirror’s rubber casing and the sun visors and installed.  Sorry about the finger prints.  Nothing like a flash to show off your smudges.  Also, sanded and polished the three pieces that make up the passenger side drip railings and installed those.  Currently working on restoring the E-Brake assembly.

It's looking great Brad!!! I was wondering if you have any pics of how you hooked up the parking brake cable to the parking brake foot pedal? I just got new cables for my '70 'Cuda that I am restoring and am trying to figure out how the cable attaches to the pedal? Thanks ... Roy

kwikkawi, I haven't installed the parking brake yet.  However, I am in the process of restoring it now and will post pics when I'm done.  Unfortunately, I'm having shoulder surgery on Monday so won't get back to it for a week or so.
It's sort of hard to explain without pics but I'll try.  First it's easier to hook up the cable before the assembly is bolted to the firewall.  On the side of the assembly, on the right side, is a small horseshoe shaped metal bracket that is held to the assembly with a bolt.  It's either a 3/8 or 7/16 head.  If it's not already, loosen the bolt and  pass the cable through the horseshoe bracket towards the middle of the assembly.  In the middle of the assembly is a clevis type pin.  You'll have to move the pedal around so that the ratchet assembly moves so that you can see and get to the pin through one of the access holes in the assembly.  Remove the pin, slide the cable up to where the pin was and re-insert the pin through the end of the cable.  Then tighten the horseshoe shaped bracket on the side of the assembly.
Now that it's clear as mud, good luck.  :2thumbs:

Been slowly plugging along with the interior pieces.  Didn’t get much done in Jan due to moving my parents into an assisted living facility and the unexpected passing of my younger sister due to a traffic accident.

Anyway, finally got my parking brake assembly restored.  Also just finished restoring the clutch and brake pedal assembly.  Painted the bare metal parts with “Metal Mask” paint. Still need to get new pads for the clutch and brake pedal, and a clutch pedal bumper, but otherwise they’re done. The previous owner cut the clutch pedal safety switch wire and after some help from forum members today I found out what the switch is called and how much a new one is.  Consequently, I’ll try and splice a new push pin connector onto it and see if it works before I spend almost $300 for a new one.

Additionally I removed and restored my VIN plate.  Sanded out several deep scratches, re-painted and re-applied the Chrysler Logo and Pen Star with a transfer from ECS and then re-attached it to the dash pad with the factory correct rivets, also provided by ECS.

Blacked out the inside cowl area, restored my wiper pivots and arms and re-installed these.

Got my ACC carpet today and I’m pretty sure they sent me the wrong carpet.  This carpet is split down the middle instead of having front, side to side, and rear side to side, sections.

Purchased some Butyl tape today along with windshield calking and hope to get the rear window installed this Sat along with the SS trim.  I’ve been slowing sanding and polishing the rear window trim and I only have one piece left.  Thank Heaven.  Talk about tedious work.

Thanks Brad. I appreciate the sentiment.

Just as a side note, found out I do have the right carpet afterall.  I didn't have it positioned correctly in the car.  What a moron!  :clueless: :banghead:

Hopefully I won't make to many more bone headed mistakes like this with the rest of the restoration.

kwikkawi, don't know if you're still lurking around, but if you are, I installed and hooked up my parking brake today.  First of all let me correct myself from my earlier post and say it's not easier to hook up the cable before you bolt the assembly in place.  Bolt the assembly in place first, although only hand tighten the the bolt, and two nuts.  If you look at the attached pictures you will see a round hole in the middle of the assembly.  That is where the cable connects and you use a clovis type pin to connect the cable to the assembly.  It has one of the squash washers that goes over the pin and holds the pin in place.  Below that you will see the small horseshoe shaped clamp that holds the side of the cable in position, just below the rod where the spring stops.  Hope this helps.  When finished don't forget to tighten the bolt and two nuts.  :2thumbs:

In addition to installing my parking brake assembly and connecting the cable, I also installed my carpet today.  While not necessarily hard, it's definitely time consuming as you (or at least me) would take it in and out to measure, re-measure and cut.  Even with that I made one small mistake in the rear that I patched with a small piece of left over carpet and double sided tape.  As you can see I didn't cut the holes for the 4-speed yet or the seat belt holes. There is no rush and  I figured I'd let the carpet "settle" a little bit more first.  I sat the rear seat cushion in place to see how it looks, and I like it.   :cooldancing:  Looking more like a finished car every day.  In anticipation of installing the rear seat cushion I started cleaning my rear seat belts yesterday.  I soaked them in hot water and Woolite in a wash basin and scrubbed them with a stiff bristle tire brush.  I was amazed at how well they came out.  They look almost new.  Anyway, today I went to do the same with the front seat re tractors so I could install them under the rear carpet and in the plastic housing and I can't find them.  :pullinghair:  I searched my parts room and found the in-board belts and the shoulder harnesses, but no outside re-tractor belts.  Since the seats were out of the car when I bought it, I'm not sure if these belts were even there, although the carpet was.   I'm going to go back and look at my old pics and see if I can see if they were present when I bought the car.  I imagine that they aren't cheap.  Anyway, hopefully tomorrow my paint and body man will come over and we'll install the rear window and trim.  I finally finished sanding and polishing it and it looks like chrome!  :2thumbs:

Thanks sadi340.  Today I installed the rear seat belts in the car as pictured below.  I also took a picture of them before installation, well before I installed the last three anyway   As you can see my Woolite wash job brought them back to life.  I was very happy with how they came out considering how dirty and stiff they were before I cleaned them.  They even had a little paint over-spray on them from a previous re-paint of the car.  Just used some fine steel wool on the chrome and re-sprayed the buckles with some SEM black landau paint.   I also dug out my shoulder belts and started the Woolite cleaning process on those and painted the retaining clips with the SEM black landau also along with spraying the final coat of paint on my driver's bucket seat frame rails.
My body man came over today and we installed the rear window.  First he had to drill and install eight of the molding clips since he installed new quarters and a new dutch-man panel.   I let him do this as he's more familiar than I am with where those clips needed to go to hold the molding tight.  Also, never having every installed a windshield or any type of glass for that matter, I needed his experience for that also.  Even though he's not a "glass man", I'm glad I had him do this.  It would have been a disaster if I had tried to do it without him.  Again, his experience with how high the glass should sit in relationship to the roof line and molding clips was invaluable.  As you can see by the pics, we haven't installed the molding yet as we want to let the glass adhesive set first and I need to take a razor blade and clean up the overage.
