Mocked up the Pro Maxx heads and PRW rocker arms today and checked for proper push rod length for this set up compared to my stock length push rods. Surprisingly zero lash on the adjustable push rod checking tool is exactly 9 1/4 inches.  The stock push rods are 9 3/8 inches.  By the time we add the .050 inches to the push rod checking tool length for lifter pre-load they will be virtually identical to the stock length.  Who would have thought?  However, I am going to order 5/16 push rods.  Will check with my engine builder tomorrow.  Now on to painting the block.

You could also use a 9V battery. I've done that before too.

This is the response I got from my son; hope this helps.

"I don't think there is a technical name for what we did.  We put power and ground to the various circuits to see if they functioned.  I am fairly certain your book(s) stated it is a 6 volt system at the cluster.  I used my power-probe hooked to a 12v battery you had lying around.  Since we didn't have a 6v source I very lightly rocked the toggle on the power-probe.  This made the lights flicker on/off and gauges twitch/move.  We did this to each gauge and light with the wiring diagram showing us where the power and ground was for each circuit. "

Spent the whole day in the shop building a makeshift paint booth, and then masking off the engine and engine stand.  Replaced the stock water pump with a 440 source high volume aluminum pump, and installed a new thermostat.  Then painted the back side of the water pump off the engine, painted the engine with the new oil pan and the bell housing.  After two coats of paint, I flipped the engine block over on the engine stand and installed the water pump on the engine and painted the front side of of water pump and housing.  After I was done painting I then took apart my Hurst shifter, that I've been soaking in cleaner for several days.  I cleaned each individual part (amazing after all that soaking how dirty it still was) then buffed them on the wire wheel.  After all the parts were thoroughly cleaned I re-greased all the individual components with marine grease and reassembled.  What a difference.   The chrome shop called and said my my bumpers and Hurst shifter are done so I'll go pick them up tomorrow.  On the way home I stop at my machine shop and pick up my new 5/16 push rods and the new high performance Fel Pro head gaskets.   Slowly but surely.

Not sure CP.  I got it from Summit.  I'll give them a call and see.

CP the reason I went with the Edlebrock was that it was a dual plane vs the single plane of the Dominator.  My car will be a street machine (although hi performance with the 512 stroker and Lunati 704 hydraulic cam) and I've read that single plane manifolds are mainly for high RPM power and racing engines.   Also, I have hood clearance problems with a shaker hood.  Do you still recommend the Dominator for Street driving/performance.

My bad, I see that now. From what I have been told by Mopar friends of mine, is that the street dominator will eat the dual plane performer all day long. they are a great all around performer. There is also a thread that shows the shaker will clear with the street dominator IIRC on here somewhere.
