Thanks John.  It's definitely been a labor of love.  :smilielol:

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Well had a slight change in plans.  Ron, my body man, is out of work right now so he has been working on the 'Cuda pretty much exclusively.
Instead of just painting the shell and rear quarters as was the original plan, Ron now wants to do the entire car at once.  Plus I'm going to be out of town for two weeks and I wanted to be here to see it painted.  Anyway, he started on the rear deck lid and doors this week.  The deck lid is done except for the final sand and the doors are almost ready for primer.  On one of the doors he had to repair some previous hack job attempt at body work when they drilled holes in the door and used a slide hammer.  He is a perfectionist, which is good considering the car will be black, and makes sure every little imperfection is gone so it's taking awhile.  While I'm gone he'll finish the doors and tackle the fenders and hood.  Hopefully, unless he lands a job in the next two weeks, the entire car will be ready for paint when I return.  Here are some pics of the progress.

Well we're a couple of steps closer to paint.  My body man spent two Sats working on the hood that didn't have any obvious dents in it when he started.  He just kept going over and over it getting all the low and high spots fixed.  With the car going to be black it will sure look good when it's painted.  Also, sprayed and blocked the doors one more time.  I mounted the dash frame and steering column and mounted the tires and wheels so we have a roller to make it easier to load on the trailer to take to the  paint shop when the time comes.  I love the current stance without the front torsion bars.  Talk about "bigs" and "littles,"     Here's a few pics of the recent progress and a couple of my Grandkids "driving" Grandpa's 'Cuda.

What a couple of cutsie wootsies! I remember being in my Dad's stock car as a wee child and these kids will likely never forget Grampa's Cuda, either. Make sure you take them for a ride when you get it on the road again!

After three years of hard work, mostly by Ron, my best friend and paint and body man, we were able to lay some color down on my 1970 'Cuda today. Sorry about the glare from the paint both lights, but you get the idea. Ron, as usual, did an outstanding job! Two coats of color and three coats of clear. Can't wait to see it in the sun and after Ron color sands and buffs it out. :-)
