Would you drive 1300 miles for a birthday and valentines?
« on: February 13, 2009 - 06:55:15 PM »
My wife is happy but I am tired. Drove over 600 miles to get here and have to get back sunday morning.

PST   I ran out of fuel at 512 miles.  There I was dumping fuel in my truck at night and trying to prime a diesel in the dark.  Darn fuel gauge read a half tank, but the rear pump wasnt working in the rear tank.

After all the mishaps to me in 30 days, it was nice to get a warm hug and see my own land.  Dont have much time to chat tho.  Tomorrow I will make it special for my Valentine and birthday girl, then head back to work for 3 days. After that I got a 2 week break.

Anybody doing something special for your best half?

I know how you feel Al. My wife's birthday, our anniversary, and valentines day are all in the same week.

You guys are lucky. 2 0r 3 events in the same week. I gotta love my wife like heck all the time because I can't remember ay of those dates. We got married when it was cold. Her birthday is when the leaves turn brown. and appearantly Valentines Day is sometime in the very near future.

I gotta get on top of these things!   :dunno:

WOW Al,
Yoo Da man!!! I've been trying to think of something romantic. I too am tired of working 7 days/week. I am VERY grateful I have a job, but I'll be on 12 hour shifts thru the 3-day weekend. I think a night at the finest seafood restaurant is about all I'll do along with some candles and a HUGE chocolate chip cookie with hearts all around it. My wife loves seafood and chocolate!! Be safe Al. I hope everybody has a safe happy Valentines!!

Way to go Alan,   I know I would if I could for sure.  Glad you did not have any more problems than you did on your trip.  Take care and enjoy.   Gordon

Glad you didn't have anymore problems after the fuel issue, and that you made it home in time to see your sweetheart!  How is she feeling after those stones?  All better I hope!

I did that shortly after college - drove from Augusta, GA to State College, PA for Valentines - 713 miles one way.  This weekend I only had to drive 330 miles one way to see my wife.  :)
