Speaking of toys, here is my collection. The cases are made from storm doors picked up at a local Habitat for Humanity.

Great idea on the storm doors.  :2thumbs: I have so many diecasts that I've run out of room to store them.

exactly my problem that drove the development. Easy to do;

Get a storm door (local Habitat for Humanity or recycling center)
build a frame so that the door sits flush (I used 2x6)
build some shelves length wise (I used 1 x 6)
run a threaded rod down the middle to eliminate sag (or you could cover the back) I figured this out the hard way...  I have nuts with washers under each shelf so I could "level" each one.
go to home depot and get a piano hinge, screw one side to the frame and the other to the door (on the top end)
make some hanging points - can be above or inside or even on the sides depending on where you are putting it
hang it up
fill it up with your toys

I use a spare rod or broom handle to prop it open when I have it open. On the second one I installed a butterfly latch (off of an only container) on the bottom to keep the door closed. Since the door is hanging down it remains closed generally but the second case I made is on a wall with a walk in door and I was concerned that when closing that door the door on the toy case would open enough to allow some of the small cars to fall out.

unfortunately I had to sell 90%of my die cast stuff during the downturn @ 7yrs ago. very sad day, had a LOT of old redline hotwheels and a couple old hotwheels track sets still in the box. the only things I kept were a couple oddities that few folks appreciate and some new hotwheels stuff that no one wanted. these are a few that were gifted to me recently (they doubled my collection!!  :rofl: )

Nice  :2thumbs:

A few years ago I said to myself, that's it no more. But I can't help myself I'm a diecast addict !  :-[ :lol:

I also recently bought a 1/64 71 Javelin Mark Donohue #6 trans -am car.
Why 1/64 .... because no one makes it in 1/18!  Yet.. :icon16:

Approx 2 years back I bought this one also - http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-24-RSC-1972-PLYMOUTH-DUSTER-MOPAR-MISSILE-DON-CARLTON-BLACK-PRO-STOCK-/281856467680?hash=item419ff462e0:g:7sEAAOSwI-BWMpNj
 They built what was later called the wire car , it used tensioned cable instead of frame rail in some areas super light & stiff , This team was amazingly innovative & Don was super consistant to bad he was killed way to young
