You guys haven't found anything on craigslist or got anything for Christmas?
Ok, got this yesterday.
Warning: Long story and lots of Ford stuff, no Mopars, sorry!
I saw an ad on cl for some model cars. Seller had like 6-8 in the pic. Can't remember how many but I noticed one was a metal Shelby cobra, basically the kit version of the 1/24 scale Maisto cobras you could buy like in the 90s. Not real good detail but cool. Saw a Bullitt "you assemble" kit that came with a prepainted body. 1967 and 1969 Shelby mustang kits. I asked about those four and the seller said they are available and the ad stated they were $5 each. They looked new and the price of a new kit is like $15-$25 now so I thought might be a good idea. This was Saturday. In the ad were a couple convertible 1965 mustangs and a boss 302. Maybe the 1966 concept mustang as well.
Sunday I get an email from her and she said some one came buy and bought the other 22 models but she saved the four I asked about. I was like what?
There were 26 total? The ad had like 6-8 model kits?
I thought, "oh well. Maybe he saved me from spending too much money by buying all the other kits.
Then came yesterday when I went to go get the four she saved for me. Was real nice she saved those for me. Turns out it was her ex husbands stash that he left behind. Opened the door to her porch and saw diecast cars!!! She said they were things she had on cl too and was putting out there for a yard sale and I was welcome to look at them. She was super nice. There were a lot more cars but I had to be careful not to spend too much $$$.
Any how, got all the stuff in the pics below. I think the Shelby Signature Series Mustang GT-350H alone goes for like at least $40. Got the 1/18 for $10 each. She dropped the price for me as she initially wanted $15 each for them. The metal tin is some sort of collectible Craftsman plied set with three small pliers in it. Perfect for small jobs or model building for $3. The real cool find is the 1/24 scale 427 Cobra in the front. The detail is real nice. She also had a couple of air brush kits and paint she sold to me cheap. I've been getting good stuff from women that are divorced or hubby passed away. Just down the road from this lady I got a bunch of nice diecast from another lady last year.
