My dad had a lot of the avon bottles, but few were Mopars so they didn't make it in the room...yet. The Daytona was a must though. I'm glad you folks like the pics. :bananasmi

Found this one yesterday on the clearance shelf in the toy department of a Target store yesterday.  Sort of cool, but of course it should be #77 and have a T/A type hood scoop, among other things.  But for $9 I couldn't pass it up.

UPS just dropped my latest "Can't resist" purchase on my doorstep yesterday. :naughty:
This is the new WIX 70th anniversary set of vintage and new Dodge Challengers, and it is really cool!
As you can see from the pictures, they really nailed the scale here, the new Challenger is a giant compared to the original! (just kidding! The new one is 1:18 and the vintage one is 1:24 )
And true to the current standards for die cast, the detail and features are amazing.  I feel sad for the poor Chinese workers carefully putting these things together for a buck or two a day and a bowl of rice, it must take hours to craft each of these intricately detailed masterpieces together....
The '09 even has the cheesy hood prop that Dodge for some reason puts on R/T's and SE's instead of the hydraulic cylinders the SRT8's get!
The 1:24 Challenger has the same level of detail as the 1:18, the only diecast models I have seen in this scale that have this level of detail are the Franklin and Danbury mint models.
The set even comes with a survey card you can send in, return along with a sales receipt for the purchase of a Wix air filter, they will send you a poster of the box artwork, and a $20 coupon toward a future diecast purchase.
I called around to some local Wix retailers to see if they stocked any, none had them, so I ended up buying mine off the place you can usually find anything, ebay.  There are a bunch on there now, they are bringing $70-$95 plus shipping.  Since the Franklin 1:24  models alone typically sell for $100+, this is a pretty good deal if you like B5 Challengers!

I saw the flyer on the WIX cars in the spring and had asked two of my retailers to get me a set, thinking I'd have a better chance of at least getting one set. They both phoned last week to tell me my cars were in and since I had commited to it I bought both.
I'd like to trade the sealed box of Wix cars for a 1.24 challenger (blue?) with a black vinyl top

Those Wix cars are nice!

But it's interesting that they don't have the cars in the same scale if they are sold as a set...  :dunno:

I'm interested in knowing what the retail price of that set was if you bought it from a Wix dealer?  I called a few but they didn't have any, so I just bought my set off ebay, where the price is "what someone is willing to pay".

The price on the set varys, the cars were to be a program in selling filters. Sometimes the retailer will sell the cars with an order of oil filters and some sell them outright. lets just say I have enough filters for the next couple years. I think the cost to the retailer is about $70.00 cad.

Cool!  I'm in the process on converting a '70 Challenger T/A into a '72 Challenger T/A style for a member here (Shhhh....it's a surprise!  ;) ).  I already did the grill and tail panel.  :naughty:
