Any good leads for picking up a couple of Ertel 1:18 Display Cases?  They are on eBay, but usually have high shipping charges.  I'm on vacation next week, so I will have a chance to check with a local hobby store (if they are still in business).  I may even try crafting my own if I have the time.

Thanks, Charlie

Sorry if this was already posted.  :dunno:

I just picked up an XMODS Radio controlled 2009 Dodge Challenger.  This isn't my pic but it's one I got off the net, I'm too lazy to go take one.  :faint:

It's cool because it's digital proportional.  I also got the Stage 2 motor kit that steps up the motor from 27,000rpm to 30,000rpm so it increases the speed from 880 feet per minute to like 1200fpm.  Also comes with ring and pinion gears set for more low end torque or for top speed.  A metal bearing kit is also available but hard to find.  All wheel drive kits are on clearance for $8, the Stage 2 motor upgrade kit was $8 as well.

Best of all, it was half price!  Reg=$50, I paid $25.  Available at Radio Shack stores.

It's 1:28 scale so 1:24 scale model car bodies will not fit unless the chassis is modified/stretched.  I have to figure out how to do that....

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Pic #2 and 3 of my ARII 1/24 scale model car

If you are picking one up, make sure to indulge yourself in any optional parts that you see because they may be phasing out the accessories from what some are saying.  Before with the previous generation XMODS they had all sorts of body kits, tire, wheels, lights.  Now I only see an all wheel drive kit, Stage 2 motor upgrade and VERY seldom a metal bearing kit.  The accessories I have seen are all 1.2 price as well.

I actually picked up the bearing kit because not only will it get the speed up and prolong the battery life, but it'll take out a lot of the wheel play.  When you get one of these stock out of the box, the wheels will wiggle , like it has massive fore and aft camber issues.  Supposedly the bearings will get rid of a lot of the play and make the car more responsive.

With a fresh set of batteries, this car will do donuts easily on a smooth surface.  The AWD kit will come with a front differential unit and tie the front and rear differential units with a metal driveshaft which will allow the car to do "drifting" but may hinder top speed.

Very cool!

Scored this on Ebay, love the look and stance of this bad boy!  1/16 scale, dcent detail.  This model has the supercharger and 5 hole Cragar rims that look like the old Lambo Countach rims.  :icon16:  Has the shackles too that jack up the car in the rear.

That's cool too!  I like the black with gold theme.

Sorry, off topic, but I was thinking of your Charger the other day.  I saw a '72 Charger Rallye original U code 440 car that I think had the SE option, had the flip up lights and formal roof!  Needed work but had soooooooo much potential!  I thought of your car as inspiration but alas no time or $$$...  :(  That's why the model will have to do.  I do like the fuselage cars.
