What would you Give.... 77-360
« on: February 14, 2009 - 07:41:48 PM »
Local to me

1973 Plymouth Duster 318V8 For sale. Engine was rebuilt about 8 years ago & then only ran about year and a half. Engine was replaced with a 400 engine with NOS installed. I tore the engine down to check out, everything looks good. Comes with all parts. Only parts removed were intake & 1 barrel carb, distributor, valve covers, heads, oil pan, water pump, & altenator. I also have a 77' 360 engine, built, from a 77 Dodge Van. Engine was only ran about hour after rebuild when the trans front seal blew out. Never fixed it. Engine has High Performance cam, edelbrock performer series intake with 750cfm edelbrock carb, chrome valve covers, 340 dart heads, & headers. The engine sat in the truck for 3 years until I removed it about 2 months ago and is now in the garage. I never replaced the freeze plugs and now a few have rusted out. I'm asking 250 for the 360

I'd have gotten a speeding ticket getting over there to buy it, then posted the question when I got home....LOL.

The heads alone are worth the $250, everything else is a bonus. If you can pop in the new freeze plugs, paint it, drop it in a car and fire it up, it's worth 4 times the asking price.

I'm wordering why the freeze plugs rusted out on a "rebuilt" engine, unless it has had only water in it and no anti-freeze. I don't know the temp range in Alabama but if it freezes there beware of cracks.

True... I would not be counting so much on the block as upper pieces... Thanks for looking out for me though.
I have a feeling this is long gone though, 3 hrs ago I left a message & no return call.

For what it's worth, I bought a complete good running 360 with 727 for $100 off e-bay just a couple months back.
