I thought the topic was which one was worth more? I would by far rather have the 4 speed car but I still think the T/A would be worth more in the end.

I think you're right Brett, but matching #'s 4 spd Cudas are hard to come by, especially if they're rust free.  I think the auto hurts the T/A, but in the yrs to come, that may not be such an issue.  Plus if I don't intend to sell the car, I could always convert it to a 4 spd.  Anyway, its a tough choice & will have inspect the cuda to see its real condition.  Thanks for the input.

yes sprecks!  i'm with you-if people are gonna quote numbers or info-they should double check them before posting-
at my job(government information specialist)-you would be reprimanded for wrong-information-especially if it was printed or posted on the net-
it has the potential of causing somenone of making the wrong decision-which in-turn, could have a really bad out come.
If you  look at NADA guides in Los Angeles- if you crunch the numbers, the real value will come out-and mind you-these apply to numbers matching cars only!-my classic car ins. will want to verify numbers and actual value before the policy is issued. -it seems a # matching 383 cuda 4 speed would best a non matching # TA-especially if it comes down to a insurance company paying you for a stolen vehicle.

If the two cars were similar condition, I believe the Cuda would bring more money because it is a numbers car.  This comes from a Challenger guy who shops T/a's quite a bit.

In the real world the most valuable Cudas are the 71's and the most valuable Chally is the 70 T/A. Even is you make the bodies a toss up trade an original T/A block and heads and valve gear is worth 10 times what a 383 is worth. :grinyes:
