Anyone parting a Challenger?
I need some metal.
I need all the metal around the rear window and of all places the right side parcel shelf, from the speaker hole to the roof.
It leaked and sat rotting that area.
good thing it wasn't a big leak to make it down to the floor or I would need floors.
I didn't know there was a jute backing on the parcel shelf cardboard, that soaked up the water and caused the rot.

Your best bet would be to get a Dutchman panel as they are very hard to repair suceesfully and then do the repairs around the side and upper window from there.
The dutchman has the interior tags conected to bolt the interior rear wondow garnish to so it wiil be easier to replace it all in one go.

I did mine and it wasn't that difficult. It took a little time but was well worth the effort. I still have plenty of pics of how I did it. If you do go that route which you probably should, I can send you pics on the R & R if you need. Dave at Roseville Auto Parts will have them in stock I'm sure. They're not that much either. After it was done, I used a stud gun to weld in the trim stud rivets.

I got this from a friend that does metal fab work up here in southern Ont. He does great work, so he was able to help me out with this complete roof assembly for repairs on my Challenger.
Man O man my widow opening is rough.

nothing like getting a complete assembly to gut as you need. I got the entire rear end of a 70 RT with my car. used the inner fenders and trunk  extensions and sold the quarters.

When
i picked this up on Monday I was ear to ear grins even with my trucks catalytic  convertor plugged. thats another story.

Topcat, I would love some pics to see some ideas as to what I am doing.

After you get all the spot welds located and removed, make 2 cuts just on the inside of the seam. Then use your spot weld remover tool to remove those on the sides. Then just gently pry off the remaining edges. You'll see there is a lot of spot welds holding it on to the rear tray area. Hope you are good at crawling into tight spaces. You may find yourself needing to go in. But if you need trunk floors, then take them out first and save your sanity. You'll thank yourself later if they're out.
