I think the Va Beach schools were in session today to make up a snow day that wasn't. About two weeks ago, it was supposed to snow, so they called out the national guard, army, air force ect. and cancelled all school for the day. Thing is, it never snowed. So today they had to make it up. Go figure. 
Me, I had to work although we got nothing done. Typical work day in the nuclear submarine world!!

Yes we were making up a snow day today, It didn't snow on the day we got off but it snowed like crazy on the make up day. For some reason our idiotic school system isn't building in snow days anymore. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, being that we always have a day every year when it is just too dangerous to drive to school
I think it was last year that there was high school baseball coach for Green Run that was paralized on the way to work when his car slid off the road because of ice. I know I, and everyone else (including the teachers) were late to school that day because of the ice on the road. The school board superintendent apologized and said it would never happen again, but it did
