Gave me an idea...

Look at my hood above.  Cowl induction, the entire center is raised about 2 inches, instead of just the striped portion.  Tall enough for most induction combos but not too tall.

I've always wondered why the previous owners did that.  The engine didn't have a hi-rise on it, unless it was on the original 383.  Frankly, at some point, I'll probably get rid of this hood in favor of a normal R/T hood.

If the factory already put the best looking hood that ever sat on a musclecar on a Challenger, why would ya want something on that looks like a tumor?  :eek7:

I like the T/A hood out of those listed. It actually looks pretty much like the original. The R/T hooded car looks like it got hit on the forhead and is all swolen lol. The AAR hood looks kinda odd too. On a 'Cuda I absolutely love the AAR hood. I think it is very close to my favorite hood, neck and neck with a shaker hood.

Close, but proportion is the big key to making that work. With a two inch lift from the R/T scoops you don't want more than a two rise from the cowl portion. It also needs to gradually rise from the very front of the hood all the way to the back to integrate with all the other lines of the hood as well as being flat on top and not having the Camaro trim line.

To each their own I suppose. While not technically a scoop, 70 Road Runners did have a 1" tall cowl style bump in the hood. 74 Satellites have a trim line feature on their hoods that looks like a cowl scoop was hastily cut off an patched and left a visable rise line that would allow a cowl to easily be grafted on and match the body lines. It also is equally as effective as any of the mopar designs and a requirement by some sanctioning bodies in some competition classes if your using a scoop at all.

Oh dude pick a stock hood! They all look like crap! If I had to pick I guess the T/A hood? But would much rather have a stock T/A hood!

That's like being asked which one of the ugly sisters do you want to sleep with...Doesn't matter they're all ugly but given the choices, I'd pick the AAR style.

Only thing I would always vote for the stock hood.  To each his own though on this subject.  Never was into any extra scoops on hoods.  Although I did one on my 63 1/2 barracuda race car I built back in the day.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I think Stroker has to have a hi-rise hood to clear all his mods is why the poll exists. I think the one I saw that I like the best is the A12 style hood. You really dont have to modify it at all and it looks pretty decent on an E. Next to that the T/A looks really pretty decent.
