I got a few pics today. I did find some evidence of some body filler but the flares are definitely metal. I am thinking maybe the thing was customized early in its life.

Yeah I can see rot in the lower quarters and doors on this one. Not bad but kinda out oe ordinary for around here. The only cars that usually get rusty around here are ones that went out to the mines. Steve, he is asking 1500 for it. It has a nice sounding 360. If I can scrape enough green up I just might get it. He has a 90 truck he is selling and he told me if it sells he is keeping the Trailduster. It has a locker in the rear and is full time 4x4 because he changed the transfer case. He still has the original and that is what I would want, a 2x4 that I could shift into 4x4, I dont like the wear and tear of the full time 4x4 not to mention the extra gas consumption.

Anyone have a clue as to the original engine? The VIN starts out AAOBE6X0..... I dont know truck codes at all but am interested to see if it was possibly a big block Trailduster.

I do believe that my 77 Ramcharger started life as a 400. 
 I havn't seen those flares anywhere before.  The paint job looks age correct. 
Cool looking truck. 
If you purchase the truck and need the front axle, transfer case and the correct rims to convert it over to a 205 or 208, I have all the parts you need. Not just as simple as the transfer case.  You must change a few things.  Let me know, I can cut a real good price. 
  Looks worthy of purchase in my opinion.  The black interior seems to be a hard thing to find.   Mine was brown originally.   The trailduster I have is blue inside.
