changing to a floor shift column does this have any wiring issues?

Hi!
Just got my 70 Challenger . It has a column shift column and I want to switch to a floor shift column. Is their any wiring issues I need to look out for? Is this just a plug and play? The car came with a B&M shifter ( auto) and I can get it started with the key? I jumped the starter with a screw driver. I assume it's because  of a safety switch? Meaning the shift levers ( 2- one inside and one under the hood) are now just flopping around and need to be in the correct position  to be able to use the key? I'd like to get a floor shift column and solve the problem? Any thoughts out there?

in 70 there is an interlock to rotate the colum in park the allow the lock to rotate back into the locked position to let the key out  the wiring is simple plug in & go , the start problem has to be in the neutral safety switch in the tranny

Thanks for the reply! I'll look into that! I got the key out! Would I have to replace it with a 70 column? or any 70-74 Cuda ? Challenger? For now I'm going to use the stupid B&M shifter so I'll have to figure out something to make the reverse lights work?
I plan on someday getting a console and using a stock slap stick. Any thoughts on getting the reverse lights to work with the B&M shifter?

if you use the 71-74 column no issue you do not need the extra linkage to the column
 the reverse lights should work off the neutral saftey switch on the transmission , is that harness there at all or plugged in properly ?

Thanks for the reply! I'll have a look for the wiring at the tranny! This was a 6 cyl stipper car and got a 440 transplant somewhere along the way?
