Are the Forward valve bodies worth having??? I have a B&M shift kit waiting to be put in and would it be good to ad on the Cheetah valve body??? Does this affect the kickdown linkage either?

I could certainly use a kick down linkage for my convert if anyone has the parts.  Been looking for a while.  I understand there is a difference between the carter and the holley . . . like a half inch or so???  Any help is always appreciated!!

I have that valve body in my cuda, I drive it on the street alot ,have been for about 2 yrs now.  I kept my slap stick shifter, as I like the stock look,  it works great with it.  I drive it weekends when the weather is nice and race on occasion. Havent had any problems. I would highly recommend it.

Interesting.  I didn't know that this board had an auto censoring thing.  I guess you can't say s--t, on here.

Ya have any pix of your set-up?  You have progresive linkage?  I have mine set really light, but can re-adjust so they both open, when needed.  Helps a little with gas usage.
Anyway, love to see some pix.

The 680 is a "forward" manual.  The other is a "reverse" manual.  The forward shift like a stock patern.  The reverse, 1st is where 3rd would be and 3rd is where 1st, would be.  Depends on the shifter you have, which one would be best for you.  The reverse is used to prevent you from  shifting into nuet. or reverse, by mistake, if you do not have a ratchet type shifter.  I have a forward, as my B&M shifter is a ratchet.  In other words, I can't shift into reverse without pulling up on the ratchet lever.

You would need a "shift kit" to make the tranny shift harder and faster.  The manual valve bodies make you shift manually, with more possitive shifts. You will have  no kick-down (passing gear)
