challenger bumper question

on a 72 challenger,what color is the filler piece between car and rear bumper supposed to be,body color or black???

In 72 the big fugly 5mph bumpers were not installed yet so I would think they would be black like the 70-71 cars. I think 73 marked the first year of the offset bumper brackets and with them the argent spacer.

LOL I ASSumed that you were hissing at me for calling those big blobs of rubber that were hastily thrown on our beloved cars beautiful bumpers fugly. My bad.

Back to the question..........

I have seen them light textured argent, body color and black.

The argent one was on a 70 V-code car.
The black one was on a T/A
The body colored one was on a Plain 72 Challenger.

These were all original cars, back in the 90's.

Are the waters muddy enough for you now?

my challenger is a 340 rallye challenger,right now the piece is body color but i was thinking it was supposed to be black but wasnt totally sure...
