Looking for suggestions on how to remove flywheel
« on: February 22, 2009 - 06:20:37 PM »
I wanted to test fit a new flywheel before verifying the total run out.  I torqued the bolts down and rotated the engine by hand to check that the bolts didn't hit the engine.  Now it seems to be stuck on the crankshaft  :eek4:   Pulling on the flywheel does nothing (yes, I've loosened the bolts  :icon16:)  but I want to see what others have done in this situation before I resort to pry bars.

I couldn't find anything in the shop manual related to removing/replacing a flywheel.  Other manuals seem to imply that it simply comes right off.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

the flywheel generally will slide off , the center hole must be a bit tight
I would gently pry it back with a prybar to loosen it
