My first ever motor swap!
I don't remember if I mentioned on here that my buddy was selling me the motor from his 2001 Stratus Coupe-turned-show-car that got ruined by a deer a few months ago. Well this weekend I went up to Shinglehouse, PA (literally, middle of nowhere...) and with the help of one of his friends, the three of us swapped the engines.
The biggest hurdle was separating the motor and trans with this slip-style manual tranny. Spent nearly 2 hours trying to figure out how to separate his units, and 2 seconds separating mine. I kept my tranny because it just recently got a new clutch and pressure plate, synthetic fluid, etc.
Started it Friday night, finished Sunday morning, drove it 330 miles home that afternoon! It might not be a COOL project like a 318-to-440 build, but for my first-ever motor swap, I'm still kinda excited that we got it done.
I'd take pictures, but it's basically the same motor, plus some "colorized additions" that he did for show purposes - red silicon vacuum hoses, a painted valve cover (only one 'cause the rear one is buried under the intake plenum...) etc.
