Why rice's
« on: November 30, 2001 - 09:49:06 AM »
I do not under stand, was the Fast and Furious what pissed you all of? Do we not have Big Boy Toy's  I hunt wild animals like Stang's, Goat's, Stingray's and Rat's. I like big game hunting not shooting fish in a barrel. Hunting  Ricer's is like riding a moped, may be fun but would not want to have my friend's see me do it.

When I have a Chrome muffler and to many wing's on it car thing pull next to me I just look at them with a grin. I just sit there and let the cam do the talking, never have had one want to play.

Now let here some 5.0 stories. My Runner plate say's
5.0 PROOF not 626 Proof. When I was racing I had decal’s that said Z-EATER not CIVIC-EATER. My quarter window's have the old D/C decals that are Chevy door's with red X thought them.  Now bottle your stuff and hunt some big game. I want to hear V-8 kills.

I wonder how many I have pissed of now. Sorry

           Cuda Ken

Beat a Honda with a  turbo in the Lumina. The kid is the only one in town with a car like it... thank god. At least I don't have to look at those ugly things!!! :D

By the way, the car hasn't been washed in about.... I don't know... a very long time. And if you live here in Northwestern PA, the dirt and crud really builds up. I haven't serviced it in a year!!! :o

Don't worry, CudaKen, you're absolutely right about V-8 kills!  That was one of the first thing Hubby taught me:  Don't waste the car on the small stuff.   ;D ;D ;D

Heck, he gets teed if I just do burnouts!  Well, he acted like it anyway, always harpin' about the cars being kept nice and all. ;)

Well, on July 2nd, 2001, I come up behind Hubby's brother (AKCuda3) in the lime 70 Cuda.  We're stopped at the intersection of Boniface & DeBarr, and I have my camera and a view of the Cuda and this nice old Apache truck.  I snapped a pic and then I suddenly see smoke rising from ahead.  Lo and behold, there's Hubby up ahead doing a burnout!  Little did he realize that Wifey was behind him!   ::)  I wish my camera worked faster ... didn't get a pic of the actual burnout.

The pic before the burnout:

Needless to say, his "don't do burnouts" line just doesn't cut it anymore.  And next summer, when I'm racing his Road Runner at the track, I'll need to know these things!  Hee hee! ;)

Oops!  I remember that!  There was a guy in a Craparo that was trying to get a race with me and I kinda laughed.  It pissed him off and he did this wimpy ass burnout.  I waited till the light was green and I did a major smoke show and kicked it sideways while I was rollin out! ;D ;D  He drove by a few seconds later with a big smile and a thumbs up! 8)
Gotta love it!!

Hee hee!  As I recall, I did end up grabbin' the RR and doin' a burnout just to 'let it out.'  I know you get worried about the lower end of the engine, dear, but that's about to be all bettuh!  ;)

You guys got a point about most of the stock imports with fart pipes and stickers galore.  The thing is, most of the kids just do modifications that make their cars LOOK fast, but there are exceptions.  Most think they are bad ass with just intake and exhaust...  There are some of those little buggers that do actually kick serious ass when modified--with front wheel drive!  You never know when one of those cars is actually hooked up.  The DSM's (older eclipse, talon, lasor) can be made into 12 second cars without much trouble!  The newer Toyota Supras are amazing RWD performers when modified.  I can walk just about anybody with my Stealth R/T TT off the line because of the AWD--but the true V8 performers walk right by when I hit 3rd  :'(  I watched the import drag racing nationals on TV last month and almost felt sick to my stomach!  It's just not right seeing an RX-7 running in the 7's!  :o

I hear ya comrade!  :)

Sucks Big Time!!!  >:(

What really, really irritates me though is the sound of anything less than a V8! It is just simply irritating and sounds terrible. Like a dentist's drill!!!  >:(

There are lots of fast cars on the streets these days, most are in the hands of adults. Then there are the young rich kids with 30-50k cars running around (and there's the drug dealers and other Riff-Raff etc.) who can afford them.

Why do they build these Ricers? It's an easy answer in 3 parts: Girls, Comfort, Availability

First Chicks:
The "trendy" cars will always win the popularity contest when it comes to choice of make, model, etc. When I was in High school the "trend" was anything that said Mustang or Camero on it's butt (yuk!). Now it's Honda and Toyota,  If you drive one that's all decked out with stickers and a Coffee can exhaust, etc. young girls DO NOTICE you (Unfortuneately, poor misinformed things :) Yes, you will get noticed in your restored "Muscle car" but most younger kids don't know a Cuda from a Camero and really have no appreciation for what they are.

Comfort:
Todays cars, even when modified for serious speed (let's say 11 seconds or slower) are generally just as easy to drive as your typical grocery getter comuter car. I know because I have one, an 96 Eagle Talon that runs 11.80's here in SLC Utah (4,000 ft elevation to boot!) with no nitrous, just a chip, exhaust, and a few games with the turbo setup. It gets over 20mpg even when I drive it hard. Try driving an 11 second Mopar to work everyday, it's NOT FUN after a while and you won't pass many gas stations either, handling? Who needs stinking handling....get my point here? Most kids only have enough money for one car, not a race car, and a driver, etc. they need one that does it all and todays cars do.

Availability:
You can buy parts for reasonable prices in most cases for nearly any new car (yes there are exceptions) but the most important part? You can FIND the parts anytime you want! I know the opposite well, I just recieved a power window wire harness for my 71 hemi Cuda project....... Found it IN HAWAII ! Even vintage "starter cars" are way expensive, anything with a decent body style like an E-body for example, costs a small fortune even for a plain Jane 318 car with a nice body.

Don't get me wrong, the import "wannabe's" really get on my nerves, especially the ones with all the flash and no real power who THINK they have a fast car. I'm a die hard Old school Mopar owner but these new cars have their place, you better figure out how to fit in with them because it's only going to get worse...... When my Cuda is done I will be "educating" allot of the younger guys in their imports.....trust me! my knick name will be "The Teacher"  :)

I used to hunt rice with my Spirit R/T. 14.6 quarter mile stock and as grocery getter lookin' as they come. Didn't make them happy being beat by a four door! I dislike the big wing/muffler lotsa stickers look but do realize that there are fast front-wheelers out there.
