Take care Nick, that kind of injury can be a slow process, so take it easy and not set yourself back in any recovery progress.  :2thumbs:  Sounds like ya got an understanding wife, that always helps.

WOW…..
I am sure you are wondering what happened, embarassing as it may seem, this is what happened.
The correct answer was …. Bowling, yes bowling, I had an accident on the lanes.
I am a very aggressive old school bowler, very big, no a really big hook across the full lane and losts of speed. The lane conditions were dryer then normal and to achieve the right hit I even needed to loft the ball a small amount and use more speed.  To achieve all this requires a quick trip down the approach  and good balance, neither of which I have at the same time. Long story short, I had 517 going into the last game and I had the first six in a row in the 3rd game so I knew an 800 series was in my grasp.
I was ready to move and took a long breath and then I was off and on my way.
As I brought the ball past my leg to release it I was sliding on my left foot and all of a sudden I stuck like a 300lb Rat on a sticky trap. I saw that I was going head first and my position at the time was directly between both lanes, the center of the lanes with gutters on both sides. I felt myself go airborne and I knew that there was no stopping me now.  My team mates said I looked like a combination of Sherman Klump (The Nutty Professor)  and Nadia Comaneci, (Gold medal Gymnast in 1977). I was airborne and twisting my body trying to miss the gutters, I didn’t make it, I landed in the gutter shoulder first and my 300lb body on top of the arm, about 10-12 feet from the foul line.  I was a mess, I was down for the count, I could not move, I had to be carried off the lane.
Now that you all know what happened, I am in much pain but I am feeling better. I can only type with 1 hand so I am moving slowly.  I have regained some movement in my arm but not too much, my ortho appointment is next Tuesday and we’ll see what he has to say to me.
I missed my 800, but I did get a 10.0 perfect jump with a ¼ twist……
Thanks for all the good words and prayers

Nick
