recession
« on: February 26, 2009 - 07:52:07 PM »
urban myth?
the recession(s) only effect 25-30% of the population. what do you think?
are the media far to involved? for hyping it?
or has the population simply purchased enough for this cycle?

With the combination of the housing market failure, the stock market crash, the trillions of dolllars bailouts and the climbing unemployement rate, I would say that more people are affected by this recession then other recent recessions. You can always take a poll.

I don't know much of anyone who hasn't been affected, either out of work like me, or worried about their job, watching their retirement savings crash in value, house value down, etc.

Hm,  car plants failing, steel plants closing, aluminum plants closing, plastic plants closing, farmers having weather issues, and thats just for starters.  Im all over the USA, I see many areas hit bad.   This is affecting everyone but vultures who pray on the common everyday blue collar worker.

Hell yes it's a fact and hell yes it is affecting or going to affect most of our nation.

I don't think anybodys getting rich right now. It'll be interesting to see if "taxing the rich" and more Unions will be the cure. Maybe we should just have the highest buisness taxes in the world and see how that works. We're almost there now. We should have more stingent EPA rules too and more fines against the horrible big corporations. Don't worry about what they're doing in India and China.

I think the only ones that will make out with this new congress is the ILLEGAL aliens. Has anyone seen the news on the new immigration/amnesty bill. House Minority leader John Baynor called it, and I quote "A piece of shi_!" Some of the provisions for illegal aliens are:

Free tuition
Permanent temporary visa's that can be renewed indefinitely
Amnest for illegal alien gang members
Legal status after only 24 hours even without a complete background check
Americans will pay for all lawyer representation for illegal aliens
No back taxes for illegal aliens
And the good ole USA will pay for Mexicans to stay in Mexico
Border security is not first in this bill.

This is just a part of the giveaway. We are trillions in debt and we do this?? :dunno:

It is more than a piece of poop. What is our country coming to?? I think we need to throw all the idiots out of congress and start over!!! I am mad as  :swear: :villagers:

Matt, that legislation has been floating around on the 'net for quite a while now. It was defeated one or two years ago.
