Looks kind of like the pulleys didn't line up, and instead of trying to align them, they just left it un hooked up.

Power steering should only go to the crank pulley..... Im thinking the second groove on the water pump is for AC

You got an la engine top pulley on there, and the bottom pulley is not correct. I cant see the alt bracket, but it looks wrong.  Easy fix tho

:iagree: w/ Al. I think you've got a mismatch of small and big block pulleys and possibly brackets too.

Figures!LOL So were do I get them? 440 Source has pulleys? I don't care if they are "correct" ( I'm not a #'s matching kind of guy LOL )just as long as they work. What do you think just get new ones?
Thanks for the replies!

You have many sources, but 440 source will do it to.

tell them Big block no a/c, and power steering for a 70 or 71 challenger. You need the brackets,  around 45 bucks
you need the upper and lower pullies. Prob 100 to 150 bucks

Other sources have the stuff to :2thumbs:

The bracket looks like big block stuff. The pulley is definitely LA though.

I agree.  Get a fan clutch while you are at it.  Less wear on the water pump and less energy wasted. =more HP.  You keep that fan and your asking for a water pump failure and when it goes, your fan will eat your radiator.

It looks like if I could get a double v pulley for the Alt. everything would line up OK? Where do I get one and is it easy to change it?
Are you sure power steering pump is driven just off the crank? I'm thinking that would make way to much pressure? Are you sure it doesn't go around the crank, water pump and power steering pump?

I'll look into replacing this set up someday, but I have too many things to fix now so this will have to wait. Rear end and K-frame  come first.
Thanks for your replies!

See the spacing on the water pump pulley? It has a thick space in between the 1st and 2nd pulley. The dbl alt pulley will not.  And am positive the crank only on the steering pump. If no ac usually 125 bucks can get the right pullies and brackets when bargain shoping.

Definitely the wrong pulleys on there and yes the power steering pump only goes to the crankshaft and it goes on the front groove of the crankshaft pulley. Mancini Racing sells the pulleys and brackets, not cheap probably a couple hundred bucks, but will make everything work properly. Depending on your plans for the car you may want to consider ordering a pulley and bracket set from March if you want that billet look or convert to serpentine.
