    I'm not sure if this has been covered here or not but Holley filed bankruptcy a few weeks ago. they're going to try to reorganize and survive but who knows what effects we might see from this.

      I just ordered a set of six pack carbs for my project for fear they might get in short supply, they're supposed to go up $140 the end of next month anyway so whats to lose. I hope they survive , but if you're wanting something a little unusual from Holley you might want to get it now.

    I went over to my engine builder friend of mine today, he was telling me about this!!! Holley is part of a group of performance parts weiand, 2 header manufacturers and a few more I can't think of now. Not good that's for sure! I hope they work it out!

    It has been tough for Holley as it was for Carter as well , once the Car manufacturers switched to Fuel injection , the volume of carbs sold dropped dramatically & trying to stay alive while downsizing has been tough , Carter didn`t last into the late 80s & the last carburated Dodge Trucks used Quadrajets on them .

     In the restructuring wouldn't they still sell their parts though? What happened to Carter ?

    Edelbrock is selling AVS's, Weber is selling AFB's.

    I'm not sure who owned them at the time, but the in-tank fuel pump on my 95 RAM said 'Carter" on it.

    Carter was splintered off with a number of companies buying parts of the business some still using the Carter trade name

    Times have changed and carburetors are a thing of the past when it comes to the automotive industry. I know most people think I'm crazy, but I still like a dual point distributor. :naughty:

    I hope they can hang on because I still want carbs and I want them to be Holleys. :droolingbounce:

    I just read an article that Crane Cams locked there Doors on 2/24/09 and are hoping to restructure under Bankruptcy protection http://www.autoweek.com/article/20090227/CARNEWS/902279984

    Lets not forget that filing for bankruptcy doesn't automatically mean you cease to exist. That is the difference between chapter 11 and 13. You can file for credit protection and restructuring and still remain in business selling products while your debts are negotiated. I wouldn't freak out about it.

    Lunati Cams is in the Holley family as well.  That's too bad, the Voodoo series has some impressive profiles.

    Harold ..can`t remember his last name had his own company ...UltraDyne Cams
     he went to work for Lunati when UltraDyne closed & designed all the VooDoo series cams as well as making all the UltraDyne grinds available through Lunati cams , if Lunati went out of business I ma Sure Harold would still be around doing what he does best
