One of the body guys will chime in shortly. I know sometimes it seems like no one is out there supporting your questions because time can drag waiting for answers. Car looks good and I bet you are glad to have it in your possession again.    :2thumbs:

whos the long hair?

 :smilielol:

you dont have to remove all the primer.

thats a decent kit you got.

high build 2k primer is the shizz for a nice smooth finish.
i use it on all my cars.
sand everything down good, and feel the panels with your hand.
it is a science, but you will actually feel every high and low spot.
try it!!

after you identify trouble areas, either dolly em out, hammer em in, fill em...
then sand em from the outside in, feather the edges good, then work your way in with a block.
once you cant feel the spot anymore, wet it down and look down the panel.
it will amaze you how a perfect spot is still bad. take your time, move slow and think fast. know what you wanna see when your finished.

i could type here for days on end, pick a spot and get to work.

I'm the long hair lol.  I'm gonna start by washing the car with warm water and soap then sand with 360.  I got epoxy and high build primer omni series. I'm gonna start tomorrow.  I am on vacation starting the 21 for a week. I hope to at a minn get the engine bay painted.  But I am not sure on the ppg paint code for the gb5.  PPG calles it bright blue poly, true blue poly. But the chip didn't look right. They said that the chip is as old as the book so its off  :dunno: The brand code is 2306, does that sound right to anyone?  The sticker also says; OEM code ATGB5,AY2GB5,B5,DT8548 so I guess thats right.

Here is the label for the FC7 Plum Crazy Poly which i'll be using on my 70 R/T SE (the top formula). It seems very similar to the codes you listed

:banghead: 1st major problem I found is the on the LH quater. The rear part where the valance is supposed to bolt to does not have the correct depth of the flange edge causing the valance to stick out about 1/2 inch above the quater.  The quater patch was one from Year One.  Anyone else have that issue?  Should I try to bend it to match the pass side or mabey cut it off and add metal? :banghead: :banghead:

Update w/pics.  I got most of the sanding with 220 then 320. I figure I'll hit it with a guide coat then back at it and see where I stand. I also have the pic of the valance to quater issue. And the hood :banghead: what it was prior to sanding and after. what a mess. Oh I also took the interior out except the dash looks decent just some surface rust.

At another attempt to figure out the rear valance fit ment issue.  I came to notice that the LH quarter extention that was put on the car is NOT correct for my car. It has a extra body line in it and also where the indent is for the bumper is, the outter most corner is rounded down wher the RH side is more of a point. It must be  a Cuda or 72 and up Chally. All work must hault as this is a major issue that must be fixed. However I don't have the know how to fix it myself or the $$$ to have someone else do it. :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :bricks1: :bricks1: :bricks1: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
