« on: March 02, 2009 - 11:43:48 PM »
Ready 4 the motor :droolingbounce:  oh yeh...my 3 year project is out of paint!  Thanks "muscle rod shop" San Antonio TX (plug).

I have my crate 426, but have a dual quad shaker....looking for advice on intake and carb setup.

Looking good. Do you have any more pictures? I believe that there is a reproduction intake available now (from Mopar I think) that has the correct spacing and accepts new Edelbrock carbs.

It's a pearl green w/ pearl black billboard...really looks hot in sunlight.   I struggled w/ stock or non stock color for past 3 years...when I saw this color, I knew....this car is what I've wanted for years, and I'm building it 4 myself...I'll never sell it.

It's a real 71 Cuda, originally 340 auto, now 426 Hemi, 5 speed, 3 speaker dash, shaker, go wing, elastimetric bumpers, rally dash, PW, PB, PS, A/C, rear defrost, 6 way seat...

I'm broke, but happy...it's worth it!

Duh
depends  what you want to do , if you already have the shaker base you are limited to Carter carbs so I would use a pair of the Thunder AVS carbs , if you don`t have the base I would look at the marine intake & a custom base & use a pair of Holley or Proform  carbs

response to "Challenger, wish I hadn't"....

not sure what u mean, but I've bought and built my cars for my enjoyment, not 2 try and make $ w/...I've got a 70 cuda,440 6pac, plum crazy...a #'s matching 71 R/T Challenger, and my 71 Hemi cuda...I'm most excited about my 71, and that makes all the $ spent worth it...these are my cars that I enjoy and plan to keep, I didn't destroy a #'s matching 71 to build this car, so I'm 0K w/ custom building 4 myself.   Sorry if I misunderstood the " wish u didn't" .

I've got no 2nd thoughts

Hope you understand.

I totally agree even if you did build a #s car it is your car , I rarely build anything stock
you have to build it for you , I was just trying to understand what carb systems you are looking at for the build .
The "Challenger -you`ll wish you hadn`t "  is no comment about you or your build it is just an old tag line on my friends car from decades ago ... as in race her & you will lose

Thanks for the pictures. How long before you think you will be able to get it on the road?

That color is awesome  :2thumbs: I don't know what will fit under your hood setup but my choice on a 426 would be the Barton Intake with a Dominator.
