70 Challenger forsale-needs finishing
« on: March 03, 2009 - 05:46:59 AM »
I wish I could keep it,but I work in the automotive industry and you all know how thats going.I need 8200$ to break even on this car.Ive done alot of work on it since I bought it.The 340(not original) runs great and is fresh. It is mildly built(small cam-edelbrock intake, holley carb, head port work, headers)I just put a new(rebuilt) 727 in it.I rebuilt the brakes all around(4 drum)New radiator-battery/tray-new front bumper-new tune up(plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter)
Its a michigan car built in Hamtramk. There is/was plenty of rust. Most of it has been repaired but still needs some TLC in places. Its also a column shift car,B5blue withgator grain top(pretty rare I hear)The top has been replaced with regular black. The back seat is perfect. The front needs some repair.Call me at 586-612-8739 0r email me at wildterke@yahoo.com. if intrested. All thats left to be on the road is to put the interrior back in and hook up the linkage for the column shifter. If I dont sell it till I get it road worthy,I will ask for 9200$

Sorry to hear about your situation brother! I too am in Automotive, and laid off with no prospects in sight. Good luck with the sale? :dunno:  I hate to see you sell it because of this economy!

That is a good deal.  I love the gator grain top!!

Not too many of those around.

You might want to post a pic of the fender tag info.

I would sell the race car instead. You'll have more fun in this car in the years ahead. $8200 won't get you a replacement.

I understand about the $$ situation though. My wife was laid off last year too. Western Union, which was here in St. Louis for maybe 50 years, Was closed by G.E. and moved to India or some place like it.   Sucks.....

Good luck to all of us.

Nice car and good luck with your sale.  Would be nice if your situation would change and let you keep it.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

B570,

Where do you have the jack stands in your pics. On the lip of the k-member? You should only support the car under the lower control arms or under the lower front frame rails.  Pics look scary to me.

(p.s., sell the camaro)
