"Mr. Norm" New Barracuda? WTF
« on: March 05, 2009 - 01:10:58 AM »
OK so I get the reason there's a new "Mr. Norm Challenger" as a tie-in or tribute to the glory days, but WTF is the deal on pretending a new Challenger is a "Barracuda" with a goofy-ass new grille tacked on? That is a phony deal.

Mr. Norm's is not the only one converting Challengers to Cudas. And I just found out yesterday that what they showed at SEMA pales in comparison to what they are going to offer.

I think the HXC cuda is alright.  I wish that they would get ride of the Challenger's body line and make a Cuda one.

Well the grille looks like a '71 Barracuda, agree the sides need some work to be claimed to have Fish flavor.

Bottom line is that Mr. Norm was a famous Dodge dealer and not a Plymouth agency, it sounds to me like a marketing scam, what's next, a "Mr. Norm Mustang?"

Keep it pure!  :villagers:

Marketing hype so you pay 10K more for the name.I`d like a `70 `cuda version but some of them do look cheasy and I`d want the straight `cuda quarter body line.

At SEMA I saw both the Mr. norms "cuda" and the HXC "cuda" The Mr. Norms car was a joke here is a picture of the Norms car

Here are a couple pictures of the HXC car

Also I talked to HXC about the body line and at the time they were still in the development phase of the billboard stripes for the car. The stripe that they will offer are I believe an 1/8 inch thick and they correct the body line so that it looks like a cuda. Their conversion kit is designed to be a complete bolt on that requires not drilling or cutting to install it. That is the reason why the fender gills look tacky. I asked them why they didn't cut the fenders and install actual 71 gills, and they told me it was because it goes against their goal of having a completely bolt on kit.

Lets be honest here, the old "E" body cars have no linkage to the breed breed of Challengers anyhow.

One guy I know said that if the 1971 Hemi Cuda droptop was such a great car why did only about 14 people buy them?

Because at the time, they were still alot of money, the Hemi alone was an $800 option.  They didn't promote it, they knew that the Hemi was done after 71, so why try and push it.

The Barracuda was 6 1/2 years.   And the only thing is that the challenger owers here think they are better than Cuda's but I am one that Likes the Cuda the best as for as ride and handling.  I have had both cars and drove them for a long time not just on weekends or during the summers like they are now done.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development
