Challenger Quarter Window Weatherstripping
« on: March 05, 2009 - 03:11:35 PM »
I am trying to install new weather srtipping to the forward edge of the quarter windows on a 73 challenger. The sliver trim slid off of the top of the window but is stuck on the bottom. I have not taken the window out of the car, (trying to avoid some work), but it sure feels like the bottom is held in by something. The shop manual is not much help on this issue. Antone have any ideas before I am forced to pull out the window?

Thanks much!

340 - I have a 73 with the same seals needing to be done. I have the seals from R/T and they look like they have a small retainer tab at the bottom. Once this is released you slide the seal up as you lower the window. Ted said it right - leave the metal retainer on the glass. You may have to "glue" it back. What I did to glue mine on was use polyurethane and push it bacl on to the glass. she aint going anywhere.
