438 Stroker
« on: March 06, 2009 - 10:24:33 AM »
Well, since Alan started his thread on his 499,  :misbehaving: i thought i would start the thread on what i am working on. I have got a 383 block on the line (sixpakchallenger) and possibly a 440 crank (chryco). this is just the beginning, but you can see my plans now. not sure on what size cam, want to do the 440 source heads. i have the TM6 intake that will be used. my ultimate goal with this is to see what kind of budget i can keep this stroker to with the most power. should be fun and challenging (pun intended). in the end i will have a 438 stroker, 4 speed challenger. if you have any suggestions, post em up. at the end of the build i will post a final bill so everyone can see just what you can build one of these for if you really search. enjoy the journey, i know i will.

and as an extra twist  :dunno:  :dunno:  :dunno:

this will be my wifes first time touching an engine, she will be assisting with the build as in doing 50% of the build   :working:

ok guys and gals, am i retarded for wanting to do a 438? i just got told that i am retarded and should pick up a 400 to do the stroker and come out with a 451. i dont know what happened with my 383 block, couldnt get hold of sixpakchallenger to pick it up, so i am still not started with this project and probably wont for a while. just wondering what you guys thought.  :feedback:

that is what i thought, but it really bugged me when he said that i was a retard because 400's are bigger and more plentiful.
