I'm building a Cars in Barns type diorama (like bentpshrods) and I'm building a '70 Challenger R/T convertible for it. Anybody got any pictures of a '70 missing the taillights?

It is a three piece tail light with the reverse light in the middle.

Isn't there like a chrome tailight panel that goes behind it?

Go to what it is worth and look for sleepy challengers under stuff and it has pics of the tail lights.

So if I remove the tailight lense on the model, then what I should do is make the taillight bucket?

No. The taillight lens is mounted to the bucket with the bezel holding it together and the entire housing slips into those holes in the tailpanel. When I get home, I'll post some photos of my housings in and out of the car.

No, mine is FE5. My original deck lid was rusty, back around 15 years ago a guy in Indiana sold me a real nice deck lid complete with spoiler off a pink T/A that had been stripped for parts in the 80's.

Oh wow, thats pretty neat. I"d love to have a nice real T/A project car. if I found a nice project i'd love to use all the T/A parts off my car and put mine back to original someday.

I often wonder what I have gotten myself into with mine! Fortunately I have had it 30 years since I was a high school kid, and it was pretty complete when I started (and I didn't have a lot of $$ in it).
Unfortunately it had rust in every nook and cranny from spending most of its life outside in a damp climate, and had many leaks.
It now or soon will have:
2 new (used) fenders
2 new quarters
new (used) trunk floor
new (used) tail light panel
new (used) decklid
am probably going to buy a new (used) passenger door
plus metal patched cowl, A pillars, floor, etc.
Not for the faint of heart, but I am lucky to have a very talented body man doing his best to make this car much more structurally sound than it was when it was new!!
I'll have to update the project in the restoration section one of these days.

Here's the photos.

You can see how the bezels sandwich the lens into the housing. There are studs, held on by some of those small cap nuts, that thread into the bezel and then are fastened to the housing through the holes in the housing. That then slides into the tailpanel and is bolted in with the small nuts you can see in the third pic. You have to take the entire assembly out to get the lenses and bezels out, unless the studs thread out of the bezel when you attempt to loosen the nut because the nuts are rusted on. Ask me how I know.
