How is the "fit" on a Challenger Hedman 78038

Regaurdless of who sent the first e-mail it was sent by a headman representative? It seems things "changed" since I sent my original reciept ? If is because I'm in Canada how about this for a solution? We both know the cost of shipping the header back to CA from Ontario ,Canada would not be feasable. So how about this? My inlaws live in Mifflinburg PA and they make the trip up to see us  often. Would you please consider sending me a updated ( drivers side only) header design to their address for me? That would eliminate the border hassels and cost to you and me? If I have to I'll even pay the ACTUAL shipping?
I feel this is a reasonable solution to this problem? From my position I am paying  additional shipping to get what I already payed for? But that fine I'll "eat that".  Not to mention the time and labor removing/intalling.I'll eat that too.
 
In regaurds to my car (1970 Dodge Challenger)to clear up any misunderstanding. My car came from the factory with a 6 cyl. I have switched to a 440 which is an option for this make and model. I used a stock V-8  K-frame mounted in the stock position, to a stock Frame rail. I also used  new stock replacement  motor mounts. My car is not modified. It is stock.  In comparisson it would be like taking a 1969 Chevelle with a 6cyl or small block and installing a big block with stock mounts. I hope that illustrates what I have done?

  I'm no help, but I just wonder what the difference is between your's and mine. I had to make a few dents, but it went in just fine on the driver's side. I didn't know about any design change, but I bought mine from Summit about November of last year.

 I wish I could offer you some solution. Have you posted any pics of your dilemma here?

Oops, I just went back and saw that steering column problem. NO way that should happen.

I feel your pain Brad. $600 and your car up on the rack for 3 weeks! with nothing to show for it yet. Give em hell
I'm thinking of either upgrading my hooker comps to tti's, or just removing them and having them "altered" to fit better and have them coated. I'm tired of the rattling against the steering pump and I think also the left torsion bar.
Whats the easiest way to remove them?
I'm assuming disconnecting the steering and lowering the whole kframe/engine is necessary?

To remove mine I had to remove the starter, and the steering column is not in yet.Then it slipped down out the bottom. Didn't need to remove anything else though.

How did your engine location measurements come out compared to mine? Roughly similar?

TommyG, get the car up as high as you can and take them out the bottom. I got my 030 hedman's in that way, steering column installed but removed the starter like Brad did for the install.

I have a separate power line running from the starter relay to my trunk for an aftermarket amp.  What you see in the picture is the fuse holder for that line.

I think they are close to yours hard to measure accurately though . I know it not over too far because the passenger side fit close too! It was on my mind all day today. Pisses me off. I'm so close to firing the car up but mishaps like this keep popping up!

I offered to have it shipped to my in-laws in PA instead of to me here in Canada. If I didn't have my in-laws address available I get the feeling I would have been out of luck? Getting ready to put the car away for the winter but better late ( getting the correct part) than never!

Yep,I haven't seen it yet. I had to get it shipped to my In-laws in PA so it's there now. I'm hoping to catch up with them before Christmas!

I did get my warranty header at Christmas here is a few pictures. I'm not so sure this will solve the problem. They look identical to what I have? It is hard to say for sure till I put them on. Tough to see just looking at it uninstalled. I'll wait till it warms up some to install. My hands stick to the tools it's so cold here at the moment.
I do have to give Headman credit , they did try!
 One difference I did notice is the area were the gasket goes is not raised to that might help with clearance, as it would olny take a few dergees here to make a big difference down further. Not sure if this will help sealing the gasket though?
