Motorhome parts - GONE
« on: March 11, 2009 - 10:43:01 AM »
Hey all,

Back when I tore apart my 440, I kept the parts lying around.  Should have scrapped them then before the market tanked, but oh well.

I have the crank (which is surface-rusted)
pistons and rods
intake
oil pan
water pump
heads (I think he said they were 902's)
valve covers

I gotta guy who'll give me $4 per 100 pounds, which means I'm probably sitting on $20 bucks, tops.  So if you want it, make an offer quick and come get it.  It's in central PA (Harrisburg) or I can cart it to Eastern Ohio, but only if purchase is confirmed (otherwise I gotta cart it back.)

I'm throwing it out Saturday if no one wants it.

Jeff

I'd be interested in the oil pan if it's in good shape.  However, I'm in Utah, can't pick up.  You;d have to ship.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Okay - I have this stuff listed on Ebay.  If no one claims it, I'll save the oil pan and send you a note.  I'm sure I can ship that for cheap.

It SHOULD be a steel crank if its in a motor home.... as Im sure you know Neil.  Unless you whip out that old "well Don I have seen a few cast motor home cranks in my day" line LOL!!!

If its steel get with Drew and hook him up!

Erm, how do I tell?  I'm home now in PA - it's right here.

I have watchers on Ebay, but no bidders - I guess I can cancel it.

Alright well I'm keeping out the oil pan for usraptr.  It's a rear sump - don't know if that makes any difference to you.  I'll PM you here soon.

The crank is pretty bad.  All the journals are pretty rusted - in some areas pretty bad.  I think it would cost more to restore than you can just get a new crank for.

I think I'm going to hold on to the heads until I decide precisely how I'm building the motor.  I was still up in the air over steel or aluminum heads, and I'd rather have these sitting around as an option then to scrap them and then want them back.

I'm heading down to the scrap yard.

depending on if the crank is cast or forged i may still want it. it is going to have to be ground down for the stroker anyway.
