XV Billet Hood Hinges
« on: March 13, 2009 - 12:57:43 PM »
Has anyone seen these hinges now that they are available (sort of - sold out!!!) for purchase. I recieved an e-mail a few weeks ago about advance purchase, but I almost coughed up a lung when they were priced at $750. They are real nice.

I had been interested in them a while back but gave up after waiting.  Since the repro stock style came out I would just get those next time.

They are so sweet, but there are so many integral parts needed to buy first. By the time they would get to me in Canada with all the boarder crap and exchange, they would be $1000! Boo.

Sold out or just don't have them! Those people gave me the runaround on an intake manifold for 7 months before I finally decided to get my money back and go elsewhere. From what I've read on the 'net this is standard operating procedure for them, take your money and hope they can string you along long enough that the part shows up before you get feed up and go somewhere else. In the meantime they are sitting on your money and collecting interest on it while you wait!

I think they are legitimately sold out. They e-mailed me about getting my hands on a pair because I made a request for them after I purchased one their chassis stiffening kits. They probably produce parts on a pre order basis - build what they need, rather than have an inventory of stuff no one is buying, so monies can be used more efficiently. Frustrating for the consumer, something you have to expect when in search of specialized parts.

Just before I got my money back from them they had 10 of the intakes listed on Ebay. I contacted one purchaser who told me that they told him they didn't have the intake in stock. Listing items on Ebay that you don't have on hand is against Ebay policy. Shortly after that Ebay pulled all of XV's auctions. :stirpot:
