Thanks Barry - you can be counted on to have the answer!   Now -- does anyone know where the best place is to find one?   Legendary?    Also, are they difficult to install?

One of the magazines had an in depth install article a few years back, it certainly is not something I would want to do myself.

Of course, if someone wants to give me a convertible & about three new tops to practice with, I am open to that.

Hmmm   I've not seen that article...... and I'm no mechanic -- but I've done some re-upulstry type things .... used to recover pool tables (not really that difficult) and a few seats .....     Is installing a convertible top that difficult?

It was in MOPAR Muscle and was about 2 years ago I believe.  I could probably find it if you want . . .  :dunno:

Do you have the factory service manual? If so, check Chapter 23.

I have a 71 BSM with the convertible info. I'll take some pictures of the manual for you.

Vermont,

Did you try installing the top yourself?
I have my new top and rear glass window and I'm going to try to do it myself.  The local shops want $600 to do it. for that price, I can buy 2 or 3 more tops without the glass.

Looks easy enough. I also have the old top still on to get the rear window and bow measurements off of before I rip it off to install the new one.  After the body is painted, I'll take pics of the installation.

I wanted to bump this old thread up because it comes up in a Google Search.  I looked all over the place on how to do it and never found enough info on what to do.

Here is how I installed my top, halfway down my page. Glass window cost me $100 on Ebay and the top cost me $200 from Year One on a %20 off sale day.
