Is this a fair deal?

I wanted a dual scoop hood for my Bee but didnt want to pay the going rate,lol. A buddy has this for sale and i know they are repopping the ram air hood box underneeth now. I told him i would buy it since his price has went from 1400 to 1000 in this bad economy. Is this a decent deal? I just hate paying a grand for a hood in a tight economy lol.
Heres what he emailed me
hood with scoops new bezels and plastic boxes and center ring. Hood is in good shape but does have hood pin holes.Has original scoops in good shape. Plastic boxes are in fair shape they do need some minor repair. All parts are original 1969 parts except for new reproduction scoop bezels.

When my father was looking for a dual scoop hood for his R/T way back when there was nothing to choose from.
We found a flat hood off another Coronet, cut the holes in it, found the scoops separate, found the chrome inserts separate....the ram air setup separate etc etc.........
In other words...... a total pain in the 
 If you can get it all together... try to cut a hair off the price and go for it 
 Think about your alternatives   
And how much YOU really want it
