Hooker headers on 360
« on: March 19, 2009 - 06:37:59 PM »
I bought a set of 5901 HKR Hookers. What's the trick to get the bolts in where the slots are?  I tried to put them in first and slide the headers on. Bolts held the headers away from heads and couldn't get the other bolts started. I hate to take a hammer to ding the pipes. Thanks

Looking for a maker of headers for this app. that does not require steering linkage going through the headers and shift linkage mods.
Thanks!

This topic has been covered a bunch of time's on here, but there are only 3 that stay above the steering link. TTI, Doug's, and Hooker Super Comps (#5115). A search on "hooker 5115" will give you a ton of threads on headers and fitting. Each has their pro's and con's, Doug's are 1 5/8" and require a mini-starter, TTI's are 1 5/8" that step to 1 3/4" and are the priciest, and the Hooker super comps are 1 3/4" and fit with a standard or mini-starter.

I called Hooker headers.  Tech said welcome to the world of Headers. I had to dent the rear pipe and cut about a quarter inch off of the two bolts that go in the slots.  Also used 3/8 header bolts.  Real pain in the butt. I asked the Tech if Hooker knows this is a problem for small block mopars why not fix it.  NO Reply
