Correct rocker arm geometry for Edel magnum cyl heads
« on: March 21, 2009 - 10:09:34 AM »
Crower offers full roller rockers with and without 0.050 backset for correct alignment of rocker tip with valve stem.
For the Edel magnum heads, which use SBC style rockers, do I need the backset, or is geometry correct without it?
Anyone gone thru this?   Thanks.
Phil

I just ordered 1.75 Crower rockers from Summit.  They come with 0.09 backset of stud location.   Today I compared engine blocks SBC to SBM, the chevy lifters point slightly inboard of parallel with cylinder bore, the mopar point much to the outboard across the cylinder bore (the 59 degree thing).   We will see how the rockers work out.  I'll post the results.  Their tech guy said don't mark them up and such, would be no problem to return them.
The comp cam roller rockers don't have the backset, I'm just hesitant buying rollers from comp for some reason:).
