« on: March 23, 2009 - 11:00:01 PM »
Anyone with '71 v-code E-body 22" rad engine bay pictures from original configurations? Helping a friend with his resto. and want to know exactly what it's supposed to look like.. I'm sure the upper tank inlet was like the '70 version driver's side off center..

Thanks..

Sal,,
Thanks man... Do you have the proper shroud for it? If so, do you have the part number on it? Also, is the radiator a 3 core or 2 core. The fan clutch, you know which one it is? My friend Hoss' clutch is hitting the core of the radiator.. How muxh room do you have between the clutch face and radiator?

Thanks again..

Yeah my fan shroud is in place now. I will go see the numbers for you and post them. This radiator is a bit harder to find since my car is a 4 spd and has no cooler line attachments in the lower tank.  It was a factory 2 row, but I took it to a rad shop and for 156 bucks had a new 3 core installed. It never over heats. I have a 69 coronet r/t fan clutch that is not the correct number, but the correct size to fit if you need it. I am possitive that at advance auto you can get a thermal clutch that does fit and work perfect, but puts it about 1/2 inch away from the cores.

Thanks Sal..
I'd appreciate any information. The thing is this car is an original v-code '71 that came with the standard 22" radiator. Somewhere down the line, a former owner swapped out the original 22 for a 26.. Of course, there's a section of the radiator on the passenger side that is blocked by the core support. We're trying to get the car back to original configuration.. I think the 22" he can get has a 4-core in it and hence, there may be a problem. He doesn't have the proper 22" shroud, hence me question to you about yours.......
